The Skillnet Climate Ready Academy aims to support Irish businesses in developing the skills and talent required to mitigate the effects of our changing climate and environment. The programmes, training, and supports offered as part of this national upskilling initiative are funded for eligible Irish businesses and employees in the private sector.

Upcoming Programmes

Skillnet Climate Ready Academy offers specialised training for businesses in the areas of Climate Action, Sustainability, and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Sustainability Pass

The purpose of the Sustainability Pass is to develop awareness, knowledge, and skills across the workforce in core sustainability areas including energy, water, waste, biodiversity, sourcing, and responsible citizenship.

This short course is delivered through a flexible and engaging online learning platform.

The Energy Leaders Programme, supported by SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) aims to assist businesses and energy professionals with practical sessions on how to reduce energy waste, deliver cost savings, and protect the environment.

This programme consists of a series of live online workshops and mentoring delivered over 12 weeks.

Skillnet Climate Ready Academy has been designed following extensive consultation with businesses operating in a range of sectors. 20FIFTY Partners are Skillnet Ireland's delivery partners for this initiative. The company specialises in engaging with industry to design world class, innovative programmes delivered by experts and apply best practice methodologies centred on sustainability and the green economy.

Eligibility Criteria

The Climate Ready Academy is a fully funded upskilling initiative designed for owner-managers and leadership teams of private sector businesses across all industry sectors in Ireland.

Certain businesses are not eligible to participate in the Climate Ready Academy including:

  • Non-Commercial Public sector organisations
  • Charity or not-for-profit organisations
  • Businesses based outside the Republic of Ireland
